"Tricks show us the world just as it should be, and that's what makes us dream."

Tricks by Andrzej Jakimowski

Review:
Not well known on our screens, the Eastern cinema surprises us with beautiful sights, lightness and a magical ambiance. Andrzej Jakimowski decided to work with amateurs, who possess a disconcerting, ethereal nonchalance, which leaves no doubt about their talent. Tricks show us a subtle world where happenstance really does exist, if only we believe in it and are not afraid of bending fate to our will. By showing the everyday life of a young Polish girl who is looking for a job in an international company, the movie depicts the reality of this country, although it renews its subject by presenting it through the naive eyes of a child.
